Bottom Line
Yes, but only Target's own prices. Target will match if you buy a qualifying item and then find the identical item for less at Target.com, in Target stores or with a Target Circle deal. The item must match in brand, size, weight, color, quantity and model number. You can ask at purchase or within 14 days after, and you need the original receipt or packing slip for a price adjustment. For a store purchase, a lower price at a different Target store does not count. The holiday catch is in your favor: starting November 1, 2026, if you buy an item and the price goes lower at Target on or before December 24, 2026, you can request a price match. Clearance, closeout and typographical errors are excluded.
Follow-up questions
Does Target match Amazon or Walmart prices?
Target's pages do not say it matches other retailers. The policy lists only Target.com, Target stores and Target Circle deals as sources for a lower price. Comparison shopping sites do not count either. A team member must validate the price on Target.com or Target's digital ad.
What proof do I need for a Target price match?
Show the current price on your phone from Target.com or the digital ad, and a team member will verify it. Screenshots or pictures cannot be accepted. If you use the Target app, it must show the price for your current store location.
Can I use coupons with a Target price match?
Target coupons, Registry completion coupons and Target Circle Bonuses cannot be combined with a price match. Manufacturer coupons are applied after the match, for store purchases only. Target Circle deals that apply automatically can be matched with proof of membership.
What items can't Target price match?
Clearance, closeout, liquidation, damaged, open package, refurbished and pre-owned items are out. So are pre-order items, contract mobile phones, pharmacy purchases and deals that need a minimum purchase. Price matching for items sold by Target.com or prices through the Target app is not available in Alaska and Hawaii.
What to do
If you buy gifts at Target this season, keep every receipt and check the price again before December 24, 2026. Ask at Guest Services or chat online, with the lower Target.com price open on your phone.
