Privacy Policy

The short version

Gazoobie is free to use and funded by affiliate commission, not by selling data. We do not sell or rent your personal information. The only personal information we hold is what you actively hand us: an email address if you subscribe, and whatever you type into the contact form.

Who we are

Gazoobie powered by iM operates gazoobie.com. In this policy “we” and “us” mean Gazoobie powered by iM.

The contact form is the fastest route to a human for anything in this policy, including access and deletion requests.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Email address and shopper type — if you subscribe through the shopper quiz or a signup form. Subscribing is double opt-in: we email you a confirmation link, and you receive nothing until you click it.
• Name, email, topic and message — if you use the contact form, so we can read and reply.

Information collected automatically

• Search queries you type into the AI deal search, stored against a random session identifier held in your browser. That identifier is not linked to your name or email.
• Deal clicks — when you click through to a retailer we record which deal was clicked, so we know which offers are useful and can be paid the commission that funds the site.
• Standard request data — browser user agent and referring page on form submissions, used to filter automated spam.
• Analytics — Google Analytics and Plausible, described below.

We do not ask for or store payment details. Every purchase happens on the retailer’s own site under their policies, not ours.

How we use it

• To send the deal emails you asked for, and to let you unsubscribe.
• To match deals to your shopper type instead of showing everyone the same page.
• To reply when you contact us.
• To understand which deals and pages are worth keeping.
• To receive affiliate commission on purchases made through our links.
• To detect and block automated spam.

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Who it is shared with

We use a small number of service providers to run the site. Each receives only what it needs to do its job:

• Vercel — hosting and delivery of the website.
• Supabase — the database where subscriptions and contact messages are stored.
• Amazon Web Services (SES) — sending confirmation and deal emails.
• Google Analytics and Plausible — traffic measurement.
• Anthropic — the AI model that scores deals and interprets search queries.
• Affiliate networks (including Sovrn and the retailer networks behind individual offers) — these see the click that sends you to a retailer, so the sale can be attributed to us.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the site against abuse.

Cookies and tracking

Google Analytics sets cookies to measure traffic. Plausible does not use cookies and does not track people across sites. Affiliate networks set cookies when you click through to a retailer, which is how a purchase gets attributed to Gazoobie. Your browser settings can block any of these; the site still works without them, though the deal links may stop earning us commission.

How long we keep it

Subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Contact messages are kept while they are useful for support and reference. Analytics data follows each provider’s own retention settings.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe at any time using the link in the footer of every email we send. It takes effect immediately.
• Ask us to delete your data. Message us through the contact form and we will remove your record.
• Ask what we hold about you. Same route, same answer time.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, including access, correction, deletion, and the right not to have it sold. We do not sell personal information, and we will honour access and deletion requests regardless of where you live.

Children

Gazoobie is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Most links on Gazoobie lead to retailers. Once you land on a retailer’s site you are covered by their privacy policy, not this one. We have no control over what they collect.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
