How we verify deals
Most “deal” sites earn a commission whether the deal is good or not. Our whole job is telling you when it isn't. Here's how we decide.
The AI deal-quality engine
Every deal in our system is scored by an AI model that weighs the discount depth, how the price compares to what that item usually sells for, the retailer, and dozens of other signals. It flags the genuinely strong offers and buries the noise — the permanent "sales" and rounding-error discounts that fill most coupon sites.
A human editor makes the call
The AI narrows it down; a person writes the verdict. Every store read is reviewed by a Gazoobie editor before it publishes. We look at how the retailer actually runs its promotions, what real shoppers report, and whether the "deal" holds up — then we say who it's for and who should skip it, in plain language.
Our own price history (being built)
We are building an independent price record, and we will say plainly where it stands: today we have six months of offer history — which retailers were discounting, and how often — but not yet a deep record of prices themselves. So we will tell you when a store is permanently "on sale," because we can prove that. We will not tell you a discount is a true saving off its usual price until our own history backs it. No history, no claim, including when the missing history is ours.
Our honesty standard
A few lines we hold, so you can trust the verdict on any page:
- We never call a real store’s sale "fake" or "a scam." We tell you whether it’s a good deal for you — that’s a different, fairer question.
- We never take a payment to move a store up, soften a verdict, or bury a warning. Rankings and reads are editorial.
- We never claim a price is the lowest ever unless our own data backs it. No history, no claim.
