Bottom Line
Yes. Best Buy matches the current price of 19 named competitors, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, Costco and Home Depot. The item must be new, immediately available and sold by Best Buy. Marketplace sellers, clearance, refurbished and open-box items do not count. The holiday catch: Best Buy will not match a competitor's item marked as Black Friday pricing, or a competitor's item for sale from the Thursday before Thanksgiving through the Monday after. It does match its own lower price. Most products sold and shipped by Best Buy from Oct. 30 to Dec. 31, 2026, can be price matched through Jan. 15, 2027.
Follow-up questions
Does Best Buy price match Amazon?
Yes. Amazon is on Best Buy's list of qualified competitors. The product must be identical, immediately available and sold by Amazon itself, not by a third-party Marketplace seller. Prices only members can get, such as membership program pricing, do not count.
Can I get a Best Buy price adjustment after I buy?
Yes, for Best Buy's own price. If Best Buy lowers its in-store, online or app price during your return and exchange period, it will match the lower price when you ask, and you can ask more than once. In a store, go to the Customer Service desk. For BestBuy.com orders, use online chat or call 1-888-237-8289.
Does the Holiday Price Match Guarantee cover a competitor's price?
No. The holiday guarantee covers only a current Best Buy price. Items left out of the extended holiday return period are left out of it too, such as cell phones bought with a third-party contract, AppleCare+ plans, holiday decorations and non-returnable products.
If Best Buy's own price drops on Black Friday, can I get the difference?
Often, if it is a current Best Buy price on a new product that is in stock. Items advertised as limited quantity are not eligible, and neither are out-of-stock items. Check whether the deal says limited quantities before you ask.
What to do
If you find the item now at a price you are happy with, buy it now. Then check Best Buy's price once a week until mid-January, and ask for the difference if it drops.
