How Does Kohl's Cash Work? Earn, Spend, Return

Earn $10 for every $50 in one transaction, spend it only in its redeem window, and watch what a return does to it.

Kohl's Cash is a coupon you earn during set Kohl's Cash promotions: $10 for every $50 you spend in one transaction during the earn window. It counts what you paid after all coupons and discounts and before tax, so $99 earns $10 and $100 earns $20. In a store you get a printed coupon. For Kohls.com and Kohl's App orders, it arrives by email within 24 hours. You can spend it only during its redeem window, shown on the coupon. It works with your other coupons, and Kohl's applies it before any percent-off coupon on the total. It does not work on Sephora at Kohl's, gift cards, Kohl's Cares items, taxes or shipping.

How long is Kohl's Cash good for?
Only for its redemption period. Kohl's says it cannot be used before or after the redemption dates printed on the coupon, and it works until 11:59 p.m. Central on the last day. Miss the window and it is gone.
Can you stack coupons at Kohl's with Kohl's Cash?
Yes. Kohl's says Kohl's Cash can be redeemed with any other coupon. Kohl's Cash and other dollar-off coupons come off first, then percent-off coupons on the total purchase.
What happens to Kohl's Cash if I return something?
If a return drops a purchase below the amount needed to earn its Kohl's Cash, Kohl's reduces the Kohl's Cash. If you already spent it, Kohl's reduces your refund instead. If you return an item you paid for partly with Kohl's Cash, you get that Kohl's Cash back.
Is Kohl's Rewards the same as Kohl's Cash?
No. Kohl's Rewards turns your rewards balance into Kohl's Cash in $5 steps on the first of the next month, and that Kohl's Cash is good for 30 days. Rewards-issued Kohl's Cash does not work on Sephora at Kohl's either.

What to do

Check the earn dates before you pay. If your cart sits just under a $50 step, a small add-on you need anyway earns another $10.
