Bottom Line
Not other stores. Walmart does not match a competitor's online or in-store price, so a lower Target or Amazon price will not be matched. Walmart matches only itself, one way. In a Walmart U.S. store, tell the associate at checkout that Walmart.com lists the identical item for less. The item must be in stock on Walmart.com when you ask, and the store manager on duty has the final say. Walmart.com prices on special events, including Rollback, clearance, Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, are not matched. Orders on Walmart.com get no price matching at all, and Walmart does not match a Walmart.com price that drops after you buy.
Follow-up questions
Does Walmart price match Target?
No. Walmart's policy says it does not match competitors' online or in-store prices, so a lower Target price will not be matched at a Walmart register or on Walmart.com. Bundle offers, mail-in offers and percent-off ads without a stated price are not matched either.
Does Walmart refund the difference if a Walmart.com price drops?
No. Walmart says it does not price match items purchased from Walmart.com that later decrease in price.
How do I ask for a price match in a Walmart store?
Tell the associate at checkout. The identical item, meaning the same size, model, quantity, brand and color, must be in stock and available to buy on Walmart.com when you ask. Some price matches need a supervisor to approve them, which can slow down checkout, and Walmart may limit matches to one per customer, per item, per day.
Will Walmart match another Walmart store or a Marketplace seller?
No. Walmart does not match prices from other Walmart or Neighborhood Market stores, or from Walmart Marketplace retailers and third-party sellers. The in-store match works only against Walmart.com, and it is not offered in Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
What to do
Compare before you pay, not after. Look up the item on Walmart.com while you are in the aisle, and check one other store's price before you pick where to buy.
